Philadelphia’s own, Jedi Mind Tricks, may go down in history as the greatest underground hip-hop act of all-time. Featuring ferocious, hardcore rhymes from Vinnie Paz and unmatched production from Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind who would sample anything from 19th century symphonies to cumbia. Stoupe is signature to the JMT sound, and produced the majority of their albums. Secondary emcee Jus Allah has come and gone, but Vinnie Paz is everything and embodies Jedi Mind Tricks.

The group can be characterized as having lots of collaborations, getting verses from legends like Kool G Rap, R.A. The Rugged Man, or Wu-Tang members, to accumulating a list of underground rappers like Louis Logic, Virtuoso, Mr Lif. Vinnie would also create the super group Army of the Pharaohs with Apathy, Celph Titled, Esoteric, Planetary, Reef the Lost Cauze, among others.
